Barausse’s reforestation effort: a new beginning after Vaia
Between October 26 and 30, 2018, storm Vaia struck the Veneto region with devastating force, toppling over 15 million trees and leaving a deep mark on the landscape of the Dolomites and the Prealps. Years later, the response to this devastation also comes through concrete initiatives like Bosco Porta Natura, the reforestation project promoted by Barausse, a Vicenza-based company specializing in interior doors and wood paneling.

A concrete commitment to nature
Barausse will fund the reforestation of 2 hectares of land in the Roccolo area, forest parcel no. 17 “Monte Agro,” by planting 5,250 saplings. This symbolic and tangible gesture will be commemorated with a memorial stone dedicated to “Bosco Porta Natura,” a name that celebrates the bond between the company, the land, and wood—the raw material of its creations.
Strategic partnerships
The project benefits from the collaboration of key partners such as:
- The Consortium for the management of the civic domain of Rotzo – Pedescala and S. Pietro
- TESAF at the University of Padua, with Professor Raffaele Cavalli
- The University Association of Forestry Students of Padua
Thanks to their expertise, the project aims to ensure effective and lasting reforestation.
Environmental and social regeneration
Bosco Porta Natura is not just an ecological intervention—it is also a social initiative.
Its goals include:
- Restoring biodiversity
- Combating the spruce bark beetle, a parasite threatening red spruces
- Improving air quality and CO₂ absorption
- Actively involving local communities and company employees
A vision for the future
With this project, Barausse shows how a company can be a driving force in the ecological transition, promoting values of responsibility, sustainability, and community. Bosco Porta Natura is a seed of hope for the future of our region.
