THE BARAUSSE REFORESTATION PROJECT TO REBIRTH AFTER VAIA

Between October 26 and 30, 2018, storm Vaia severely hit the Veneto region, knocking down over 15 million trees and leaving a deep mark on the landscape of the Dolomites and the Pre-Alps. Years later, the response to this devastation also includes concrete initiatives such as Bosco Porta Natura, the reforestation project promoted by Barausse, a Vicenza-based company specialized in interior doors and boiserie.

A concrete commitment to nature
Barausse will finance the reforestation of 2 hectares of land in the Roccolo area, forest parcel no. 17 “Monte Agro”, with the planting of 5,250 seedlings. A symbolic and tangible gesture, which will be commemorated with a memorial stone dedicated to “Bosco Porta Natura”, a name that celebrates the connection between the company, the territory, and wood — the raw material of its creations.

Strategic collaborations
The project benefits from the collaboration of key partners such as:

The Consortium for the management of the civic domain of Rotzo – Pedescala and S. Pietro
TESAF from the University of Padua, with Professor Raffaele Cavalli
The University Association of Forestry Students of Padua
Thanks to their expertise, the project aims to ensure effective and lasting reforestation.
Environmental and social regeneration
Bosco Porta Natura is not just an ecological intervention: it is also a social action.

It aims to:

Restore biodiversity
Combat the spruce bark beetle, a pest threatening red spruces
Improve air quality and CO₂ absorption
Actively involve local communities and company employees
A vision for the future
With this project, Barausse demonstrates how a company can be a key player in the ecological transition, promoting values of responsibility, sustainability, and community. Bosco Porta Natura is a seed of hope for the future of our territory.
